After a month or more of homeschooling, even the best parent-teachers may need some fresh ideas for engaging their students. Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) is making it easy, by bringing the Bard’s work straight to your living room or home office.
Their Montana Shakes traveling program for elementary schools is now presenting Virtual Shakes, an educational program available on YouTube. The programs include lesson plans in addition to lively, interactive performances for the K-5 audience. Students can even ask questions by video.
“In partnership with Montana PBS, we are fortunate to have a trove of online resources for students grades 6-12,” says Kevin Asselin, executive artistic director for MSIP.
Recent Shakespeare in the Parks’ performances will also be streamed on the MSIP YouTube and Facebook channels: Twelfth Night on May 1 and You Never Can Tell on May 15. Both performances begin at 7 p.m. and are available free for 24 hours.
